Apply to be one of 2 LGBTQ Community Liaison positions available in ASUCI’s Office of the President for 2012-2013.
While the Office of the President has had liaison positions in the past, we’ve completely redefined the role & responsibilities of our liaisons in order to deliver real results & impacts for the students & UCI community.
The LGBTQ Liaisons will be staff members of the Office of the President’s new Historically Underrepresented & Marginalized Students (H.U.M.S.) Initiative that works with the Chief of Staff for Advocacy & Initiatives. The goal of this initiative is to improve and address campus climate issues related to cultural competency, awareness of issues related to identity and the inclusivity of spaces on campus. In addition, this Initiative will work as a team to run campaigns to institutionalize policies, seek out opportunities for ASUCI to collaboratively organize with underrepresented and historically marginalized communities at UCI, and offer support and resources whenever possible. The LBGTQ Liaisons will build the critical relationships and communication necessary with the community & maintain that the President will be an active member and ally.
DEADLINES are this Friday, the 25th! Here’s a link to the application website: https://www.asuci.uci.edu/applications/.
Come! It will be held at the Dr. White Room on Monday, June 4th from 7m - 9pm.
